Newmark Hotels, Residences, Reserves & Lodges has just announced a new hotel in Cape Town’s Woodstock, which will form part of its Residences Portfolio. The Stock Exchange is scheduled to open in March 2019 and will form part of the WEX1 development – a mixed-use building that will be made up of residential units, restaurants, a swimming pool, gym, entertainment deck and retail spaces. The building is located on Albert Road opposite the Woodstock Exchange and was designed by Vivid Architects and is under development by Signatura in partnership with Indigo Properties. The development will comprise 33 apartment-style rooms, (Studios, Studio Deluxe units and Two-Bedroom Apartments) which will be designed along distinct themes (Urban Jungle, Urban Art and Urban Pattern) and celebrate local talent as well as forging a connection with the neighbourhood. As such, furniture and décor items in the Stock Exchange’s rooms will be signposted on a “design map” of Woodstock, enabling guests to source and purchase similar pieces thereby supporting the area’s artisans.
The property is ideally located close to a MyCiTi bus stop, bicycle lanes and a train station, allowing for easy access to Woodstock’s vibrant points of interest and Cape Town’s plethora of tourist attractions.
Neil Markovitz, MD of Newmark Hotels, Residences, Reserves & Lodge comments: “The Stock Exchange’s refreshing approach will certainly align with Woodstock’s trendy atmosphere. We are confident that guests are going to fall in love with this captivating hotel.”
