Shimansky’s Table Mountain ring is a future classic celebrating a local icon

The Table Mountain Ring paying homage to South Africa’s most iconic natural wonder, was launched by luxury jewellery design house Shimansky in a celebration of one of the city’s favourite sites.

Shimansky CEO and Founder, Yair Shimansky, says that the Table Mountain Ring is more than a ring, it is a soulful connection with the majestic natural phenomenon, Table Mountain, that gives Cape Town and South Africa its special presence on the globe. “The ring enables locals and visitors to become a part of that special magic every day, wherever they are,” says Shimansky.

The iconic silhouette of Table Mountain inspired the design, and the hero piece is a Table Mountain gold ring housing 27 diamonds, intricately tracing the outline of the mountain. For the next three months the ring is available in silver from R980 and gold (white, yellow and rose) in three different styles: plain, with a single diamond or with 27 diamonds.

The Table Mountain Ring collection is available at the Shimansky showrooms and stores, and at the gift shop on top of Table Mountain.

“At Table Mountain Cableway we believe strongly in the power of team work and collaboration, which is why this project with an authentic SA brand like Shimansky makes so much sense to us,” said Wahida Parker, MD of Table Mountain Cableway. “Ultimately it will help us share the message of the beauty of Table Mountain with even more people. Just think what a great conversation starter this will make.”

Made from South Africa’s most precious natural treasures, gold and diamonds, visitors can view the making of the Table Mountain Ring at the Shimansky Clock Tower workshop where the master jewellers and the diamond polishers perform their magical craft. “With tourism earmarked as a key economic enabler of the Western Cape, we will continue to play a pivotal role in contributing to Cape Town’s economy and to upholding our commitment to sustainable tourism,” says Shimansky.

One lucky Real Life reader will win a yellow-gold Table Mountain Ring – head to the Facebook page for competition details and to enter.
