Tintswalo Atlantic reopens with a new offering

One of Cape Town’s most loved hotels, with arguably one of the best views in the whole city, Tintswalo Atlantic is a family run and owned establishment that offers total refuge right on the ocean and backed by mountain fynbos.

Having suffered serious damage to its main lodge building after a fire in February (many will remember that another devastating fire closed the hotel a few years ago), it is open once again for business after a six-month rebuild.

The lodge’s light footprint and beautiful surroundings make it a special destination, in tune with its location. And its new incarnation seeks to make it more accessible to a wider pool of guests, as well as a total haven for those staying there. A new strategy, timed to coincide with the reopening will see the hotel focus on resident guests only. In addition, new room rates have been introduced to invite guests to immerse themselves in the full Tintswalo experience. Rates include bed and breakfast and start at R6 500 per room per night (low season 1 May to 31 August); R9 600 (high season), R11 500 (peak season 15 December to 15 January).

“With tragedy comes opportunity and after the fire the re-launch has provided us with the prospect of fine tuning our offering. Tintswalo Atlantic is synonymous with luxury, privacy and seclusion. This is what we will highlight. We’d like to present guests with a bespoke and exclusive, private lodge experience, complete with the warm South African hospitality and personal service our brand is known for,” says CEO Lisa Goosen.

Non-resident guests will be welcome once a week only at the Where else in the World Wednesday Lunch where a limited number of diners will be able to make a reservation to dine in this spectacular location. Moving away from a traditional fine-dining format, these events will feature wholesome and fresh, seasonal cuisine cooked in an honest and uncomplicated style and served in a relaxed environment, complemented by an award-winning wine list. The 3-course lunch is offered at R960 per person.
