First development in the North to join the Retirement Collection

With almost 30 years of property development success, the Devmark Property Group’s The Retirement Collection is synonymous with successful retirement villages such as Cle de Cap, Legato, Heritage Manor, Onrus Manor, La Vie Est Belle, Villa Cortona, and more recently Helderberg Manor, The Plettenberg Manor and Langebaan Manor. Their latest edition and first outside the Western Cape is Nooitgedacht Manor Lifestyle Retirement Village.

Nooitgedacht Manor is situated on the northern side of White River, a developed town with excellent schools, shopping centres and other facilities. It offers easy access to the Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport as well as the internationally acclaimed Kruger National Park, which is a mere 35km away and the perfect distance for a day trip.

Says Jean Ehlers, Residential development director of the Devmark Property Group: “We’re extremely excited about Nooitgedacht Manor, which will be our tenth retirement village development. It’s situated in a peaceful corner of the Lowveld with homes combining traditional Bushveld style with contemporary appeal. The five phases of the development will offer 63 freehold homes, apartments and a full service Samaritan operated sub-acute hospital. Furthermore, it will boast excellent communal facilities and state-of-the-art security that buyers in Devmark’s retirement villages have become accustomed to.”

Nooitgedacht Manor is less than 1km from two of the Lowveld’s best-loved entertainment and shopping destinations including the Bagdad and Casterbridge Centres. Casterbridge Lifestyle Centre offers cafes, restaurants a cinema, theatre, spa and a vintage car museum in a garden environment, It is also a short drive away from the provincial capital Mbombela (Nelspruit) and connected to Gauteng by the N4.

Located between the Drakenstein Escarpment and Kruger National Park, the town has grown to a small but prosperous farming town of 20 000 people. “An outdoor lifestyle of scenic drives and safaris awaits, with the Long Tom Pass and Kruger less than an hour’s drive away. The area has one of the best climates nationwide, with mild weather throughout the humid summers and sunny winters. It also offers a diverse range of tropical and citrus fruit farms, fresh vegetables and cut flowers. Residents will have plenty of time to enjoy the area,” Ehlers adds.

Ehlers believes that nothing can beat savouring the African sunsets in Lowveld style, considered by many to be the classic Africa. “Residents will be able to watch the sunset from their verandas as the crickets hum and the braais sizzle. For the more active residents, there will be beautifully landscaped gardens with Acacia trees to take a stroll in the early evening. The clubhouse facilities will include a coffee shop, hair and beauty salon, library services, a shuttle bus, heated pool and gym.”

The development will offer three accommodation types ranging from freehold homes to cottages and apartments. With a choice of eleven luxury home types ranging in size from 85m² to 220m², the largest options have three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a double garage. Two bedroomed homes offer one bathroom and a single garage, with cottages offering two bedrooms and one bathroom. The one and two bedroomed apartments offer a full bathroom, kitchen and dining room. Prices range from R1.495 million to R3.895 million.

All units will offer open plan living which lends itself to entertaining and family gatherings. Materials, textures and layouts pay homage to the local environment and history, including large stoep and braai areas to enjoy the scenery and moderate climate. Quality finishes and a range of optional extras make it easy to personalise. Quartz kitchen tops, ceramic floor tiles, charcoal aluminium window frames and lantern exterior lights create a Bushveld ambience. Units also come with a gas hob, electric oven and extractor, as well as pre-paid electricity meters.

Ehlers concludes: “The Devmark Property Group’s philosophy is to offer retirees an exceptional and secure lock-up-and-go lifestyle. We’re driven by quality and aim to offer residents only the very best. We have more than 2 000 retirees living contentedly in our developments and our residents are active, social and enjoy life to the fullest.”
