Casa Leon’s new Woodstock digs expands its design vision
Fine furniture crafters and artisanal upholsterers Leon at CCXIX have just opened a new space at 66 Newmarket Street in Woodstock.
Design lovers might remember their previous 12 Rooms Exhibition project in 2014, where 12 prominent interior designers designed unique room sets using Leon at CCXIX furniture. The new Casa Leon showroom takes that concept – displaying design in curated and styled spaces – and expands it over a whole house, with co-founders Pim Verdoorn and Ilaria Guidi, dressing the rooms of a recognisable Woodstock heritage building.
Spread over two floors and 350 square metres, the rooms will be set up, home style, to show off some familiar Leon at CCXIX staples as well as new additions, which include sofas, armchairs, dining tables and more, with all upholstery featuring the latest fabrics by Warwick, Romo and Hertex, set against engaging wallpapered accent walls (expect to find the in-house Leon at CCXIX wallpapers range too printed on local linen).
The product offering will include premium locally crafted and customisable bed linen, lighting from legendary Italian brand Seletti and children’s furniture, bedding and accessories by Villa Nova.
When the business of shopping is done, the in-house café downstairs will serve as a rest stop for recharging and refreshing. Aptly titled Caffé Leon, it serves light meals and European inspired fare from coffee, crepes and Belgian waffles to Dutch poffertjes, salads and more.
