Blok’s new NINEONS development at 9 Scholtz Road in Green Point features a shared rooftop entertainment deck and pool with panoramic views of the Green Point Common and Three Anchor Bay.
A striking silhouette – the vertical fins of the building maintain privacy and act as sound protection – and strong focus on smart urban living, with space maximised throughout the design, make it a smart urban offering from the property group.
“By focusing on dual functionality and Third Spaces, we have designed apartments that deliver innovative homes in the desirable Atlantic Seaboard. The shared spaces in NINEONS also presented us with the opportunity to blur the line between passageways and entrances. By giving each apartment a courtyard and a balcony, we are encouraging a relationship between apartments and their neighbours, in a similar role to the famous South African stoep,” says Blok MD Jacques van Embden.
As with all of Blok’s previous developments, state-of-the-art appliances, oak flooring, as well as Third Spaces such as home offices, bars and balcony seating and dining, have kept the Blok standard of quality and functionality throughout each apartment high. Blok also partnered with furniture designers Dark Horse to dress the show apartment currently as a demonstration of the kind of functional but stylish pieces the space responds to. “We were excited to collaborate with Blok again. NINEONS’ compact living approach presented us with a unique design challenge, that required pieces that were both functional yet stylish,” says Dark Horse MD Jarrad Nelson.
Blok’s environmental awareness has been implemented in the construction of the building and is evident in features such as stormwater collection tanks, green water heating and low energy light fixtures and appliances. Homes still available in this development include two-bedroom apartments and gorgeous three-bedroom penthouses, each with a private roof deck.
